As a general contractor, Tutor Perini is responsible for planning and scheduling the manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractors required for the timely completion of a construction project. In addition, Tutor Perini frequently self-performs many key construction tasks, such as concrete placement and excavation. In addition to the general contracting role, Tutor Perini offers services under construction management or design-build contracting arrangements.

The Company has three operating business groups: Civil, Building, and Specialty Contractors.

Our Civil Group is comprised of Tutor Perini Civil, Frontier-Kemper Constructors, Lunda Construction Company, Black Construction (Guam) and Becho, and focuses on public works construction primarily in the Western, Midwestern, Northeastern, and Mid-Atlantic states, as well as Guam and the Western Pacific, including the replacement and reconstruction of the public infrastructure such as highways, bridges, tunnels, mass-transit systems and wastewater treatment facilities.

Our Building Group is comprised of Tutor Perini Building Corp., Rudolph and Sletten, Inc., Perini Management Services, Inc. and Roy Anderson Corp. and focuses on large, complex projects in the hospitality and gaming, health care, commercial and government offices, sports and entertainment, education, transportation, corrections, biotech, pharmaceutical and high-tech markets, as well as diversified construction and design-build services to the U.S. military and government agencies, surety companies, and multi-national corporations.

Our Specialty Contractors Group is comprised of Five Star Electric, Fisk Electric, WDF, Desert Mechanical, Nagelbush Mechanical and Superior Gunite and serves to broaden and enhance our mechanical and electrical capabilities. The Specialty Contractors group has a sizable presence in New York, Texas, California and Florida, and often partners with other Tutor Perini companies on projects throughout the United States.

The company was incorporated in 1918 as a successor to businesses that had been engaged in providing construction services since 1894. The company’s name was changed to Tutor Perini Corporation in 2009 following the merger between Tutor-Saliba Corp. and Perini Corp., which occurred in September 2008.

Tutor Perini’s clients include some of the most visionary developers and demanding public agencies in the world. Our building construction backlog includes many globally recognized brands who are repeat clients. We are well-known in the markets that we serve: hospitality and gaming, multi-family residential, sports and entertainment, corporate and advanced technology campuses, colleges and universities, health care, cultural and exhibition space, and retail developments. Our civil construction backlog includes many large, complex mass-transit, bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects for various state and local government agencies.

The Company believes that the best opportunities for growth for its civil construction business are in complex urban infrastructure projects and government projects focused on rebuilding and improving America’s aging mass-transit systems, highways and bridges.
